Who We Are

Club Cristiano La Esperanza is a ministry center that provides for the needs of children in the neighborhood near the Managua dump (known as La Chureca).  Since 2001, we have a history of ministering to these children and families with our school Colegio Cristiana La Esperanza.  We had to close the school in 2012 because of a government project to move the people out of the dump.  It was an incredible effort by the Spanish Government that led to the relocation of all the families into a surrounding neighborhood.  As the dump closed in 2012, the Lord provided for us to continue in ministry to the children and families we have cared for all of these years.

Club Esperanza sits at the entrance to the new “La Chureca” neighborhood.  We provide for nearly 300 children at all levels of life.  We provide a free preschool, we reopened our elementary school in 2017, we provide after school tutoring for elementary aged students, and we offer a High School scholarship program.  Every student receives two meals a day in our feeding program as well.  In addition to the education and nutrition programs we offer sports, music and art classes at Club Esperanza.

Our focus in all of this and our calling to serve “the least of these” comes from Jesus.  We feel called to serve these children and their families.  We want them to feel the love of God and to grow spiritually even as we meet their educational and physical needs.  We have a great hope for each of their futures.  And we trust that the Lord will provide for all of the needs at Club Esperanza as we meet each of them where they are right now and prepare them for that future!

Thank you for your interests in Club Esperanza.  We are a non profit organization and all of our activities are made possible by your donations.  We need all the help we can get.  Please donate if you feel led and pray for this work that God is doing in Nicaragua!

  2. My husband and I are wanting to come to nicaragua for a week in April. We wanted to see what needs you might have. My husband has a mechanical engineering background and I have medical background. We also wanted to see what supply needs you may have. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks,
    Michaella
